Health & safety policy

A Health and Safety Policy sets the foundation for your organisation’s approach to safety. It defines your company’s safety aims and objectives, outlines who is responsible for achieving them, and details how these goals will be met.

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, every business must have a health and safety policy. This policy needs to be prepared, maintained, and made available to all employees.

The Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999 also stipulate that if you have five or more employees, your policy must be written down and kept in a readily accessible format.
